Generative Media Authorship - Music, Text & Image
John P. Supko, William Seaman
Description from DukeHub
This interdisciplinary graduate seminar covers Generative Media in all its forms. Students are required to produce two final projects. The first is a creative project examining generative art forms that engage image, music, and text, or at least two of these media. The second is a closely related critical paper of 10–15 pages (double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman) that examines theoretical frameworks informing the creative work. The paper must include footnotes and a bibliography. Together, these two final components, one artistic and one written, are intended to articulate a rigorous theory–practice relationship and to demonstrate sustained engagement with the semester-long final project. Instructor consent required.
