What this site records
This is a personal portfolio. It keeps a small analytics log so I can see whether anyone is reading it. No account, no advertising network, nothing sold to anyone.
Recorded on each visit
- Time of the visit and which page was opened
- IP address, and the approximate city or country derived from it
- The site or link that referred you here, if any
- Browser, operating system, device type, language, screen size
- How long the page stayed open
- Clicks on links that lead off this site — the destination only, and only for links on these pages
Not recorded
Nothing about your browsing outside this site. No history, no tracking across other websites, no fingerprinting, no cross-site identifiers, and no advertising profiles. A random id is stored for the tab you are using so repeat page loads count as one visit; it disappears when you close the tab.
If you got here from an email I sent
Links in my outreach emails carry a tag identifying who I sent them to, so I can tell whether a message was useful to the person who received it. Those emails may also contain a tracking pixel that records when the message was opened — the same mechanism nearly every mail tool uses. Reply asking me to stop and I will remove you from any further tagging.
Google Analytics and Vercel
The site also loads Vercel Web Analytics, which counts pageviews without cookies or cross-site identifiers, and Google Analytics 4, which collects its own aggregated traffic statistics under Google’s privacy policy.
Retention and opt-out
The log is kept for 30 days and then rolls off. Any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics requests will block this too, and the site works exactly the same either way. To have a visit removed, or to ask what is stored, email jaideepaher3@gmail.com.
