Analyzing Rhetoric

Hannah T. Davis

Description from DukeHub

Learn methods of rhetorical criticism that enable you to analyze different ways that texts, images, and discourses work to convey, shape, and, at times, control meaning. Engage with rhetoric as a means of communication based in specific contexts and designed for particular audiences and purposes. Employ various frameworks of rhetorical analysis (i.e. metaphor, narrative, genre, and ideological criticism) that enable you to discover and dissect the possibilities, limits, and consequences of the choices that people, including you, make when speaking, writing, and even posting online.
