SEX WORK: THE POLITICS OF SEXUAL LABOR (CENTURY COURSE)
Anna Storti
Description from DukeHub
This course examines feminist debates about the nature and impact of sex work. Over the course of the semester we will explore forms of sexual labor in relation to questions of consent and coercion, labor contracts and work values, sexual practices and intimate relations, and trafficking and migration. The course seeks to trouble some of the conventional distinctions between sex work and other forms of both economic exchange and sexual practice in order to think more rigorously about the current organization and meaning of sex work, as well as to think more carefully about its experiential and institutional specificities.
