BIOLOGY 357L
Wild Types: organismal diversity research lab
Emma Wallace
Description from DukeHub
Life on Earth spans an extraordinary range of forms, functions, and evolutionary histories, shaped over millions of years. In this course, we'll explore that diversity through a hands-on, research-focused lens - examining how different organisms are studied and why they matter for fields like biology, medicine, and environmental science. We'll learn directly from scientists at Duke and beyond to gain exposure to the tools, techniques, and questions driving modern research. From field-based approaches to cutting-edge lab methods, this course connects the diversity of life to the practice of science itself. There will be some day trips available in this course. Prerequisite: Biology 201L/201LA or Biology 202L
